50 Years Ago Today... The Blackpool Incident
If you are an older fan you will remember when West Ham lost at Blackpool in the 3rd round of the cup 0-4
A few days later it was discovered that Bobby Moore,Jimmy Greaves,Brian Dear and Clyde Best went out the night before the match to Brian London's night club, this became known as the 'Blackpool incident".
Also 50 years ago today the 'Ibrox disaster'".

Mooro said he had 3 pints... Greavsie said he had 2 pints... and Bestie was on the OJ's... I think Mooro said he always had C&B blood running through him but after this incident and the way him and the others were thrown to the wolves he never trusted the club again

Around the time of the Blackpool game we were notorious for getting beaten in cup games by lower league teams so the actual result was less of a shock than the off duty antics of some of our players.

never saw greaves play but he never had a good word to say about us on his show with the saint, though I still loved watching it. it seemed like a glorified beano once he joined us, another masterstroke by our scum owners as spurs got martin peters
